Thanks Dick. Your letter really brought back those days.
I'm very sad to hear about Wayne's death. I was close to him in high school where we both ran cross country and track. What mattered most to me were his kindness and acceptance. It is easy to feel judged in high school. Wayne listened, cared and didn't judge. He was also an amazing inspiring athlete who invited others to succeed as well.
Rest in peace Rick. I knew Rick mostly from Wolfe Grade elementary school. We were friends and I spent a few nights at his house where I got to eat breakfast cereal with sugar in it unlike at my home. He taught me how to take care of fuchsias so they would have abundant blooms and foliage. I never was as good as he was though. I remember when he got angry his face would go completely red. My condolences to friends and family.
Happy Birthday Betsy. I hope you have a wonderful day and upcoming year.
